Pituitary tumors affect thyroid levels and cause high cortisol. Most of the time MRI's don't show the tumors unless they are done with a high resolution machine and using the dynamic protocol. Also, look up central/secondary hypothyroidism. It is what is caused by a pituitary adenoma. All your symptoms sound like Cushing's Disease. Please, please don't walk away from this if so. Ask for more cortisol testing. Ask for testing at the appropriate times. If you want to know more, the message boards at cushings-help.com have wonderful folks with wonderful information. I am a Cushing's survivor. I could have written your story.
