I had a hysterectomy because of uterine and bladder prolapse. My dr said I did not need my uterus anymore. I had 2 kids and did not really want more. I was only 32 and there were no computers to look up things. I had small fibroids, but not bad. I kept my ovaries. I don't know if it was the right thing to do or not-having the hysterectomy vs just a repair. I wish I had known more about it at the time. I thought it(the uterus) just sat there, but it does play a role in many different ways. I think there are times when it is necessary. thank goodness they don't do it so automatically anymore. I had a difficult birth with my last child and should have had a c section and then it probably would not have been needed, but that is another story.
