My husband and I are trying to concieve. My last period was on the 10th of March 2010. We had sexual intercourse on the 28th, 29th,31st march and 3rd of April 2010. My period should have been due around the 13th of April. I have not had my period. I have an cramping on and off for the past two weeks but no period. I do feel a bit nauseous from time to time. Except for that no other symptoms. Is there a possibility that I may be pregnant and if so when should I take a HPT?

Hi AkH, just wondering if you could tell me whta tthe out come with the gynae is? I am kind of in the same situation as you, and jsut deciding what i should do next.

Unfortunately my blood test came back negative. Was extremely heart sore. Now I am more confused. I do have an appointment with the gynae to see what the Hell is going on. Thanks for all the advise and will let you know what the outcome with the gynae is.

I went for a blood test today. Awaiting the results which should be ready by the evening. Have made an appointment with my gynae for the 3rd of May 2010. Holding thumbs that it is a Positive!!!!

I suggest you make an appointment with your health care provider to see just what is going on. It could be a false negative, or you could have a health issue that is changing up your menstrual cycle.

Hi,
I had taken a HPT this morning and it came out negative. Was really disappointed. If I am not pregnant then why haven't I got my period. What should I do now?

Hi AkH-
It is possible you are pregnant any time you have unprotected sex, so it is certainly possible in your case. Some of the newer home pregnancy tests can be accurate 10 days after conception, others say wait a week after your missed period. Either way you are in the time frame where it is reasonable to take a home pregnancy test.
Occasionally there can be a false positive related to use of specific medications, so be sure and read the inserts that come with the test. That way you can skip any related meds for 24 hours if possible for a more accurate test.
