Ok,. on oct 18 I injected a birth control medication for the first time, I got my period, on November 3rd but at first it was brownish and then My pad would get like a line of blood, and everytime i would wipe, there was enough blood to cover the toilet paper, I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative, When i went to the rest room a small of blood does come out, and mixes with the urine, but it is not alot, (as normal for my period) Im not sure if the BC medication made my period lighter, Today is the 9th and im still bleeding, is this normal??? should i take another preg. test. ?

She did mention that she is using an inject-able birth control for the first time, the same as a pill (they are both forms of hormonal contraception, that do help many women regulate their menstrual cycles).

Yes, a 7-day period is completely normal. Women who begin using a hormonal contraception for the first time can also experience differences in their "bleeding patterns" (period is changed slightly, either in color, amount, timing, duration, etc).
Your doctor should discuss these changes with you, and this information is also included in your prescription "patient information brochure", that we recommend you read...it has very helpful information!
