Bleeding after taking Next Choice

Hi there, I had unprotected sex on November 7th (while I was still on my period). He did not ejaculate inside of me, but I still went to the pharmacy and bought Plan B. I bought it the following morning (less than 24 hours after the incident.) I had my period for another day or so. Then on November 11th I had a lot of dark brown discharge in my underwear. I can't tell if it's blood or not. It is now the 13th and it is still happening. I also have cramps. I am not on any type of birth control, and I have taken Plan B once before with no side effects. I'm not sure if this is a sign of early pregnancy, i'm ovulating, or just a side effect of the Plan B. Any insight would be helpful! Thank you!

Hi Kim,

You should expect to have an irregular period for the next couple cycles after using Next Choice/Plan B. This is very common. You can take a pregnancy test to settle your nerves but having a period is a good sign of "not pregnant". I hope this helps.

hi im kim from above , i wanted to know if i will have a regular period in november or not because i started bleeding like 6days after the pill...i was bleeding for 3days. will that be considered my period for the month ? help - should i take a pregnacy test !

I had sex for the first time around the 2nd or 3rd of October. The condom broke, but he didn't ejaculate inside of me. I took the pill 3 hours after the incident and then the other 12 hours later, and then a few days later I started really light spotting, and then heavy bleeding that lasted like 2 or 3 days. And then it just stopped. The bleeding ended 8-9 October. It's now a month and 2-3 days later since I was bleeding last and I'm getting very stressed. I don't know if the bleeding counted as a period since it was so short, but it was pretty heavy. Also, the month before this I was on my period twice because my birth control plan ended. So maybe my cycle has gone completely hangwire because I've been bleeding 3 times within 2 week intervals. I'm still scared though. I mean I'm feeling some light cramping now, but I can't completely depend on that. Should I just wait it out for now? And if nothing happens when should I consider taking a pregnancy test? I appreciate anyone's help and insight on this. Thanks. :)

Hi, the ecp pill has side of effects and one of the side effects would be bleeding after , and I know for experience since this has occurred to me , more than likely your not pregnant it just takes a while for your period to get back to normal hope this helps ;)

Helllooo i need some help!!! So i drank next choice at beginning of october, i got my period after a week of october, then it ended, now on the 25 of octiber i got it again, it ended around the 1, and on the 5 i am bleeding again, its like 3 periods one after another, am scared!!!!!!

hi my name is kim and i am going through the same exact thing as alex ( the girl that posted this question) same dates & i had unprotected sex..i started bleeding around the same dates as her..is this my period for november or will i have a normal period around the 21/22nd ? im reallyyyyyyy worried , i cant be pregnant i am a college student and this happened the 2nd time i had sex ever : (( im not having sex again.

i think u should wait two more days...if its more than 10 days thats when you should worry
