Hi Anonymous,
That is great to hear you have dreams for your relationship. I bet your girlfriend would like to know that too; it's also great you advocate for her health. It's not clear what the alleged "bigness" of her belly could be. If she notices it and is concerned, she can go to see her doctor to get it checked out. It may just be bloating before her period, or something similar.
Condoms are 98% effective when used correctly. For more information, please review this article: Help! The Condom Broke During Sex: How to Prevent "Wardrobe Malfunctions"

Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your question and for finding EmpowHER. Your girlfriend more than likely will not be pregnant from this. What you did is called the withdrawal method. And you did have sex, when you insert your penis in her vagina, that's intercourse, no matter how much time it is. If you plan to continue this type of sexual activity, it will do you well to protect yourselves from unwanted pregnancy. Use condoms, spermicide, birth control pills, or whatever you're comfortable using. The withdrawal method alone is only about 70% effective at preventing pregnancy, so you may want to use a different method also to ensure she won't get pregnant.

is that so?? gosh im so relieved.. i love her and we have so many dreams for us.. i saw her belly recently and it was i little bit big? is this caused by her menstruation coming up? i think ill abstain for having sex with her for a while... but ill if ill make love with her again, we'll go protected.. id like to ask if using a condom REALLY safe?

Hi,
Anytime you have unprotected sex, there is a risk of pregnancy. If you used the withdrawal method (pulling out before ejaculating), that is a form of birth control that is not very effective, but better than nothing! The withdrawal method is typically around 70-80% effective at preventing pregnancy. (This compares to condoms at up to 98% effectiveness, and birth control pills at 99%).

Women do not become pregnant every time they have unprotected sex, but the more frequently they have unprotected sex, the higher the chances they can become pregnant---it's basically statistics. In any one given month, there is "only" a 20% chance of pregnancy (due to the fact that a woman ovulates on a particular day, then the egg is only viable for 24 hours). So...24 hours every month, a woman is fertile. HOWEVER...you do not know when this time is, and sperm can live inside a woman for 3-5 days, hence the statistical probability of pregnancy possibly occurring; possibly not.

Confused? For your specific situation, if you pulled out without any ejaculatory fluid entering inside your girlfriend, the withdrawal method is about 70-80% effective. If some ejaculatory fluid did enter into your girlfriend's vagina, the pregnancy risk is increased.

The stuff you saw hanging out of her vagina may have been her own vaginal secretions, or could have been your semen.

You two will need to wait until your girlfriend's period begins, or if it is late, she can take a home pregnancy test. The likelihood of her being pregnant if this is the first-ever time of sex is not high, but always possible without protection. Please use a condom anytime your penis becomes erect when you are making out with your girlfriend, so you two can be physically intimate without all of this worry and sleepless nights! It's so easy to use a condom, and much better than the alternative, right?!

Do you know when your girlfriend is expecting her next period? When was her last period?

Hi anonymous,
Assuming you don't put her at any further risk of getting pregnant (i.e., additional sex), her next period would likely indicate if she is pregnant or not. If her period doesn't happen, she can take a home pregnancy test to find out if she is pregnant. If her period happens, generally speaking that means she is not pregnant.
Hope that makes more sense.
