Over the last six months I have had daily abdominal pain(upper left side) now in the most recent 3 months the pain has move to my right hip and femur(front and side of femur & hip) Results from a recent endoscopy - Normal small bowel - reactive gastrophy. Pain is daily with now upper back pain & fatigue. What other test would you recommend to hopefully diagnose the problem. AND can IBS causes bone pain? Cancer is in my first generation family before the age of 35 - Father & younger sister
I am 46 yrs old female - Look forward to your response - Concerned

To answer your question, IBS can cause pain that can be felt in many different ways, and if this is your concern, do you have any other symptoms of IBS?

You are concerned about cancer, and I am curious what type of cancer has run in your family? Most cancers are asymptomatic, meaning, there are no symptoms. Cancer is not usually associated with pain at its earliest stages (there are other signs and symptoms you can learn about, depending on the type of cancer that runs in your family).

Can you tell us more about your other symptoms related to IBS, as well as what type of cancer you are concerned about?

Lastly, have you talked with a pain management specialist regarding your lingering pain and fatigue?

Cancer that runs in my family is colon, stomach primarily 1st & 2nd generation. IBS - other symptoms, diarrhea, abdominal swelling upper left side comes and goes, can only eat small portion meals otherwise very painful within 30 to 40 minutes after eating with swelling of the abdominal, can not eat anything cooked in lard.
Could the bone pain possibly be NERVE pain related to IBS?
I have not talked with a pain management specialist but will definitively schedule an appt with one. (Thanks for the referral)
