Q:

Could I possibly be pregnant from just naked genital rubbing but no ejaculation?

My last period was June 9. On June 21 me and my boyfriend were messing around. We were grinding without close on but there was no penetration or ejaculation. I then put my underwear back on and pleasured him and he ejaculated, but not anywhere near me. I am a day late for my period and I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative. I just wanted some opinions on my situation. Thanks for your help.

I'm on the pill but I am the most forgetful human being on earth and I take it irregularly sometimes... My boyfriend and I were messing around and he went inside me a few times but not all the way and for a few seconds at most. I never get my period on the pill Im on (haven't gotten it months before we started having sex) so I can't base anything off of that aspect. The messing around took place approximately 2 and half weeks ago (possibly a little less... Maybe just 2 weeks ago) and I've noticed that I feel bloated and it's been that way for a few days now. I'm really terrified that I could be pregnant and I'm only 17 and I need someone to calm me down because I am LOSING MY MIND OVER THIS I don't know which websites to trust or what stories apply to me and I need a straight answer. So to word this more easily: he did not cum inside of me, the messing around didnt last long and when he was inside me it was for a few seconds at a time, this is not our first time having sex (but we haven't done it that many times), when there is full-on penetration he always uses a comdom, and recently I've been feeling bloated... What does my fate look like to you experts out there?! Am I screwed?!

So me and my boyfriend had sex and the condom didn't break and he didn't cum, and before he put the condom on I was like grinding pretty much on the genitial area it was bare skin to bare skin but I'm only worried about pre cum and the fact that it happened when I'm fertile idk im just scared

I am also a virgin, and was fully set on no sex until marriage. A week ago the same thing happened between my boyfriend and I. I noticed about 3 days ago that my breasts seem to be tender and possibly larger. I am supposed to start my period tomorrow but I'm not exactly even regular. I am terrified that I'm pregnant and have definitely learned my lesson. Is it likely I am due to swollen breasts?

Im in the same boat, but my period isn't late exactly.. I've just been experiencing what seems to be a brown discharge. Today was the first day I noticed it, and I'm still not completely sure of the colour because my underwear happens to be a deep blue D=! I've never been on the pill, and have never experienced a discharge before, that I can remember. I might have D= but with me worrying about being pregnant, could this one be more.. noticable? I am also bloated and emotional, which are both normal for me a week before my period starts, which it should be starting in little less then a week, though I haven't noticed my usual cramps or constant hunger. Im worried I'm pregnant, although typing everything seems to make me realize how irrational I'm being, but it would be nice to hear what other people think about all this.

Well, the only way that you could possibly be pregnant is if you had unprotected sex. Is this the case?

Brown discharge is normal for many girls and women, as your menstrual flow can either begin or end as brown in color. Cycles also change from month-to-month, as sometimes you may experience pre-menstrual symptoms (bloating, cramping, emotional ups and downs, sore breasts, acne, lower back pain, etc), and other months you may not notice or experience any of these.

Hi all, I just wanted to update and yes I did finally get my period. It was four days late (I am assuming from all the worrying I was doing). Now that I have started I feel kinda stupid for thinking I was pregnant, but hey, you never know. I am definitely not participating in that kinda of behavior again. It's not worth the worry. I am sure your period is coming, just seriously try to relax and don't think much about it, believe me, I know it is hard, but that is what I had to do and I started!! Good Luck. :)

Let me try to answer both of you and help you not stress out a little.

Like Alison said, it's nearly impossible for you to get pregnant without penetration and without ejaculation. Nearly impossible. Like, not even 1 in 1,000, OK?

On the other hand, stress can delay a period by a week or two weeks sometimes. As can other things -- if your diet or level of activity is different, if you have changed any medication, or if you have been under pressure at work or at school or in the family. But even if none of those other things happen, stress changes your hormonal balance in your body, and that affects your periods.

We seem to have had a lot of questions lately from young women who are very late for no reason that they can see. It's not just you two. What I can emphasize for both of you is this: Try to relax about it for at least another week. Don't think about it all day. Don't take daily pregnancy tests, because if they're negative, you don't tend to believe them anyway until your period comes, right? Don't fret all the time. Eat right, get enough sleep, and go on about your normal business. I suspect that in a few days all will be normal again. Fingers crossed for you both. =)

Hi,
It is unlikely without penetration and ejaculation that you would become pregnant from this one "episode" of unprotected sex, but not impossible. When a man's penis become erect, there is "pre-ejaculatory fluid" that may contain sperm, even if he does not ejaculate.

I understand that you did not have penetrative intercourse, so you may wonder why I used the word "sex" previously. Everyone's definition of "sex" is different, and genital-to-genital contact (with or without intercourse) is defined as a "sexual act" by most people, "sex" by some. Anytime bodily fluids (from penis, vagina, mouth or anus) come into contact with each other, there is potential for the spread of infections (sexually transmitted infections, or STIs), and of course, there is a pregnancy concern.

Pregnancy tests are reliable at detecting 99% of the pregnancy hormone by the time you have missed your period. Again, without intercourse, pregnancy is unlikely but not out of the question. I wish I could tell you more, but you will need to wait until your period comes (and a day or even a week late is nothing to be concerned about). If your period has not started within the week, do you have a Gynecologist that you can call?

In the meantime, are you interested in learning about birth control options, so you can prevent an unwanted pregnancy (and the stress of waiting, that comes with it)?

I wish you well, please let us know when you have your period, and/or if you take another pregnancy test.
