3 wks ago (just 2 days after my period ended) I had started bleeding very lightly after sex...intercourse was vigourous but not at all uncomfortable or painful. The bleeding has been very light but of a very dark reddish brown colour, and some bloody mucus like clots- I am not sure what is going on, but its been quite a while now and I am getting concerned...can someone explain if this is normal or what I should be asking a dr to check for?

Hi, Anon, and welcome to EmpowHer. Thanks for your question.

Do you mind if I ask you a couple more questions?

Are you on any type of birth control like the vaginal ring or an IUD?

When you say bloody mucus like clots, let me be sure of what we mean. Is it mucus that is tinged with blood, so it's pinkish, or is it actually dark in color and more like small clots?

And how far apart are your periods, normally? Are you quite regular?

I'll do some research for you while we wait to get your answers.
