I have a friend who is 21 years old, living in Los Angeles and looking for a doctor who specializes in endometriosis. Her case is pretty severe and she's in and out of the hospital pretty frequently.
Does anyone have a good recommendation? Or can you talk about the type of treatment you're receiving? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have 3 friends who got their lives back and are pain free even 8 years later. They saw Dr Andrew Cook in Los Gatos, Ca. He has a clinic called Vital Health Institute. They work with you and he has great documented results with Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain. There is also a video I saw on KTLA CBS news about one of his patients and her experience. She worked at UCLA as a nurse but went to Northern California for treatment as she couldn't get good help in Southern California. Check out the video.

His initial consult is out of pocket and is 10k then he may take insurance after that. So its pretty unlikely most people can afford him

I'd tell anyone women with endo to change her diet and to do her own research as much as she seeks the knowledge of a doctor. I've had endo 10+ years. I had 2 laproscopies by 24. Theres no "cure" but when I changed my diet I found relief and pain management. She should only be eating organic meats with no hormones - because her body already has too much estrogen. So lay off beef and pork or eat sparingly. Also, pastas or floury sugary foods will cause inflammation and pain. Pinterest was a wonderful resource for me! Tell her to dig and keep her head high - don't fight the change. A southern girl in love with food I hated changing my diet BUT I look and feel great now and I've been able to introduce my loved ones to very tasty very healthy meals. Not one doctor in my lifetime told me my diet could affect the pelvic pain but that information changed a lot.

In addition to changing your diet, would you mind telling me if you are also on any kind of hormone therapy/birth control? I am new to endometriosis and trying to find my way through this disease. Thank you in advance. Wishing you good health!
