I have taken it 2 times this year because I am paranoid even though I am on the pill. Is it true that it causes infertiliy?

I mean really??? this is America where everyone is free to make their own decisions. How about instead of telling her what not to do, you teach her the reasons behind your feelings. Education has never hurt anyone. Lets not judge, try to help.

I took Plan B (2 pills) when in 2010. When I became pregnant in 2011, I had immediate complications. Went to the ER and found outI had a subchorionic hemmorhage above the baby. It appearently became too large for my uterus to handle and the babys heartbeat was lost. I had to have a D&C. I tried once more and had a positive test but went to my doctor and there was no baby. I am not sure if this was caused from taking the Plan B, but I have a healthy almost 5 year old little girl. Who can really say what these complications were really caused from? I have not had any of my questions answered... so goodluck to you all and all of your decisios...

You should not be "trying" to conceive with your "boyfriend"! It may be devastating to be young and infertile, but so is raising a child alone. Use condoms and stop trying to have a baby, your whole life is ahead of you 21 year old!!!!!!!!!!

I had sex for the first time, i was so paranoid of myself getting pregnant, so i took 5-6 emergency contraception pills within 3 days and i took 2 more pills 1 month later. And now i have stopped using the pills. I am so scared that in the future i cant be pregnant because i took too many pill at once. Please help me with some information.
I will really appreciate. Thanks.

Plan B CAN cause infertility, what they don’t tell you is how. Plan B if taken many times can cause you to develop CIST in your ovaries which in turn can eventually cause infertility or Serious problems conceiving. The reason why it is easy to say that the product itself is not linked to infertility is because, women can get cist, it can occur in women for many reasons aside from medications influence. My most sincere suggestion is do not make the same mistake many mislead women who can not give evidence to link the pill to the physical problems caused by the pill that Lead to infertility. If you have to take it once & choose to use this method okay, otherwise take caution and do not use it as a consistent method, you will regret it when you are unable to conceive.

I myself was a completely healthy 18 year old when I first started taking plan b because my boyfriend became scared many times that we hadn’t been careful. I had taken about 6 over a period of 11 months, I had extreme pain in my lower abdomen and was taken to the hospital where they had concluded a cist had ruptured in my ovaries & I had more than one. I had never in my life had problems with this, soon I discovered that these were caused by the Plan b pill which prevents an egg from releasing, “effectively preventing pregnancy”. My boyfriend and I decided to start trying for pregnancy 3 months after & continued to try, I am now turning 21 this June & it seems that the ovarian cist cause by the pill has damaged my chances of becoming pregnant. This has put a toll on my relationship so consider my story and try to make cautious decisions when turning to this solution because if your guy decides to leave after damage has been done and you become infertile, it’s a heartbreaking thing to have to go through alone. The risk & possible effects are yours to live with regardless.

Plan B does not cause infertility. The drugs in Plan B are the same hormones that are found in many types of birth control, just at a higher dose. Plan B also does not terminate an existing pregnancy; same as birth control pills.
