I started my period after about 4 months of not having it, it started out as a brown/white substance for about 3 days and seemed like it stopped then it came back with the heavy bleeding going through 4-5 maximum protection pads a day, one lasts about 3 hours when i'm at home its not too bad except when i have to move around i've been stuck trying not to get up to do anything at all and its getting old quick. also along with the heavy bleeding i've had large blood clots coming out when i go to the bathroom i'm on day 2 of the heavy bleeding and im not sure if my body is making up for the 4 months that i missed or what but my ob/gyn isnt available untill monday and im not sure if i should wait it out until monday or go to the ER? i've had a history of anemia, and also had some ovarian cysts this year i dont know if this helps but i would please like some help! thanks in advance.

You're welcome. I know it can be so hard to wait for that call, but the ER will likely just tell you to go see your gynecologist.
Anemia can be tricky, but we have a lot of helpful in our anemia section

thank you so much for replying pat, i don't feel as if my life is in danger and thats the reason i'm trying to avoid going to ER because i wouldnt want to be there taking up a space ahead people who really need immediate help. and i am waiting for some one to call me back THANKS! =)

mrzbella - Your ob/gyn practice may have an on call physician that you can contact for immediate advice before Monday. If not, the ER would be an option if you were to get to a point where you felt your life was in danger and it would be best to contact your gynecologist on Monday.
