I have had the same problems as you only I am 32. I have been having cycles every 14 days for 8 months now. I have hot flashes, sweats, irritability, emotional, lack of sleep, headaches. I have clamps on my fallopian tubes but have had those for 5 years. I am also a cervical cancer survivor due to a leap. I have a history of cystic fibroid as well (andemetreosis).

I started with a shorter and then longer menstrual cycles when I was 49. At one point, my menstrual cycle did not stop and it was extremely heavy..with clots that then left me with very severe anemia. My GYN did a vaginal ultrasound and said that my uterus lining was rather thick. After seeing many GYN doctors and realizing that for me, the bleeding was not going to stop, I went on their advice and had a hysterectomy done. My GYN surgeon told me that in looking at my uterus, it was the only remedy.
I'm just letting you know so that you are aware of my particular outcome (not that yours would be the same, because your situation could be really different than mine). My advice is to make sure you get all the tests that the above respondents have recommended and see if the GYN will do a pelvic/vaginal ultrasound. If the bleeding continues, make sure to get tested for anemia. Hope you are better soon and keep us posted.

I would make an appointment with your doctor just to make sure it's not something more serious. Always caution on the side of safety. It's easy enough for them to draw your blood to see if your hormone levels are dropping. Also, if they're doing blood work and you haven't had a CA125 test, you should.
Let us know what you find out. If in fact, if you're peri-menopausal or in menopause, we have a lot of great information for you on our site.
Take care and please go see your physician.

Hi,
That is a good question! One of the "symptoms" of menopause is irregular menstrual periods, which could mean less frequent or more frequent than your "usual". The medical literature often describes the more frequent bleeding as your "cycle becoming shorter". So, what you describe could be a sign of menopause.
Just to be on the safe side, let me ask: how long have you been experiencing a period every 14 days, as it could be a sign of something else. Would you describe each episode as a "period" or "spotting"? Do you have any other symptoms?
Do you have any of these other symptoms of menopause, listed on the EmpowHer Medical Encyclopedia:
* Irregular menstrual periods
* Hot flashes and night sweats
* Disturbed sleep patterns, insomnia
* Anxiety
* Significant mood changes
* Depression
* Dry skin
* Irritability
* Vaginal dryness and pain with sexual intercourse
* Difficulty concentrating
* Trouble remembering things
* Diminished interest in sex
* Frequent urination or leaking of urine
* Headaches
* Achy joints
* Fatigue
* Early morning awakening
According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists online patient education brochure on ACOG's Abnormal Uterine Bleeding, "...The cycle may get shorter near age 35 years. It often gets shorter as a woman nears menopause (around age 50 years). It also is normal then to skip periods or for bleeding to get lighter or heavier."
Does this information help?
