Can you provide us with more information in regards to what your question is? Amenorrhea is the medical term used to refer to the absence of a menstrual period for 3 more more consecutive months.
You did not have a period for 3 months...does that mean your period has now started?

December 12, 2010 - 7:51pmi suppose to get my period yesterday according to my doctor.she gave northisterone medicine..she asked me to take for 5 day (3 times a day) n then the 6th day i should get my period which is yesterday. and im having this delay in period since i got my 1st period(16 years old). is there any solution ?i been to numerous clinic and tried some hormone medicine but the period will be okay for 3 to 4 months and the delay in period will start back...

It is important to call your doctor and let him/her know that your period did not begin as expected after taking the medication. The medication you are taking contains progestin, so it's not really a "set-in-stone" fact that you will get your period on the exact 6th day, so you should call your doctor, or your doctor's nurse, and ask if you are supposed to wait a few more days for your period to begin. Ask "what are the next steps?" if your period does not begin: do they want you to call again, do they want you to make an appointment?
Have your doctors talked with you about it being normal for periods to be irregular as a teenager, or are they concerned that there are other causes to your lack of periods? What tests have they conducted, and what were the results?
Also...how old are you now, and do you have a trusted adult who can help you advocate for yourself and ask questions, take notes at the doctor's office? Please let us know as much information as you have, and we can help you research information.
