Sutton-
In this case, I would consider waiting 4-6 weeks before having sex. Especially if you are healing nicely--you don't want to take the chance and delay healing. Please consult sex and tampons with your doctor prior to engaging in either.
Best,
Rosa

Hi Sutton,
Was your surgery laparoscopic or was this an open-abdomen operation?
In laparoscopic surgeries, any strenuous activity should be avoided for at least 2 weeks. For the most part, doctors will give you the green light for sex and tampons any time after two weeks. However, this should be addressed with your doctor. If you had open-abdomen surgery, your doctor may want you to wait a little longer.
Best Wishes,
Rosa
