I just want to ask what is happening on my menstruation..I'm already married and have one daughter. I'm taking a pills after I gave birth to my daughter since 2004. I continuous taking pills for 6yrs now. Then I stop it when I went here in dubai since march 2010 coz my husband is not with me,my menstruation is irregular since I was a teenager. Since march to august my menstruation is okay but when the month of September 26 I notice that my menstruation is not the same as before because it is color brown and just a little only, it last within 2 weeks. Then after that October and November I still don't have a period until now. I'm just a little bit worried that's why I ask here. What is happening on my menstruation. Hope that you can give me an answer and advice thanks..

Thanks for the advice Ms. Christine it will lessen my worries and I will observe it until half of the month of December. If I still don't have a period on that month, I should prefer to go to the doctor for check up purpose. Thanks again and more power to the EmpowHER.

Hi lhele24,
Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. It is normal for your period to change periodically. If the changes concern you, don't be afraid to call your doctor. Doctors typically want to see you if you haven't had a period in 90 days and aren't pregnant. If you are pregnant, you should call your doctor to get an appointment. Have you taken a home pregnancy test just to verify you aren't pregnant? If it's negative, something else may be going on that is causing secondary amenorrhea. You can read more about it here:
Secondary Amenorrhea Causes, you can also click on the links at the left for more information about amenorrhea and expert articles about it. If you experience other symptoms like excessive cramping, and migraine, you may want to seek medical attention.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.
