hi i recently missed 3 pills in week one of my pill pack (microgynon) and i had unprotected sex, im due for my period but havent got it yet, so i did a pregnancy test and it come back negative, not sure what to do now?

hi again, well my period began yesterday but was only a few spots and has now stopped again??

Did you make-up the pills you missed?
Missed birth control pills can cause irregularities in your menstrual cycle, depending on which pills were missed (during what week), as well as other factors (did you begin taking the pills again, did you "make up" the missed pills as directed, etc).
If you take a home pregnancy test too soon (it needs to be about 2 weeks after unprotected sex, and after a missed period), it will not be accurate in detecting a pregnancy.

- Did you make up the missed pills, or continue using the remainder of your pills?
- Did you use emergency contraception?
- When did you take the home pregnancy test?

3 pills in one week? well that can compromise the pill and it can mess your usual cycle up.. wait for few more days and repeat the test, if your period doesn't show up in the meantime.. good luck!
