Ok well I had unprotected sex on 15th August and the next day within 24 hours I took the morning after pill. Exactly a week later on the 22nd August I started bleeding and I had this for 2-3 days. I normally have my period within the first week of a month ( Dont know exact dates sorry) and I had my normal period at the beginning of auguest before the unprotected sex. Its now the 15th September and I havnt had my period again yet... Im getting seriously concerned. Ive taken 6 pregnancy tests all of which have come out negative, but for the last week to week and a half ive been getting minor cramps and aches and pains in my legs (which i normally have before i come on) but still have had no period!! Someone please help with my situation... Im so stressed about it, I cant eat, I cant sleep, its all i think about! Help Help Help!

Stressed Out-- I am so glad everything turned out as you wanted it to!

Scared--
Even if you had sex during your period, you may still get pregnant. Unfortunately, having your period does not mean you can't get pregnant. If you have not gotten your period from the August 29th incident and your due date has already passed, you may take a pregnancy test already.

Keep in mind that the morning after pill sometimes changes your period. So that light period you experienced MAY have been your period for the month. However, I would strongly encourage you to take a pregnancy test just to remain on the safe side.

Good luck, please keep us posted.

Stressed Out,
With six negative pregnancy tests, you should be reassured. I'm sure the nurse will help as well. And if you have a lack of normal pregnancy symptoms -- which could include tender breasts, bloating, nausea and increased frequency of urination -- that should reassure you as well. Try to relax, and not be so freaked. I hope your appointment today will make you feel better.

Stressed Out,

I am glad you found EmpowHer, maybe after I answer your question you will change your user name to Relieved?

The morning after pill can be taken up to 72 hours after a single incident of unprotected sex. The reason why you have that window is because conception, contrary to popular belief, does not happen right away. Instead, it takes about a week to two of hard work within your body to finally conceive a child.

One of the side effects of the morning after pill is a change in your period, this can include duration and date of arrival. So, that 3 day bleeding that you had at the end of August was more than likely your period. Your next period should probably be expected in a week or two.

I hope this answers your question.
