is it still possible to get pregnant if you have had your period? (i was told sperm can live up to five days in the vagina), so if i had sex on the 5th of october and got my period on my schedualed date or a little later, can the sperm still get to the egg? can i still get pregnant?

im not at all hoping for it, it was something i had talked about with my boyfriend and my mother doesnt answer my questions pertaining the subject. and altho we do use condoms i was still on top of my head concerned about it.
