Two missed periods, negative pregnancy test, but pregnant like symptoms.

Hi,
I am only twenty one but I am thinking maybe I have an hormone imbalance? My periods are very regular and I have not had my period now for a few months. I have taken numerous pregnancy tests and all have come out negative. I do have pregnant like symptoms though such as weight gain, fatigue and headaches. I also have been extremely bloated recently and have been spotting. I was thinking maybe some of these are a sign of hormone imbalance...I generally eat pretty well and I try to get out and excersize regularly. I have had some mood swings and just over all feel like I am pms sing the whole past month and I have had an increase in my appetite ( I ussually eat small portions and find my self hungry way more often now though). Also I was very happy for about a month and recently am just neutral but that might have something to do with the fatigue I am experiencing now. Any ideas what could be wrong with me? I am sick of feeling like my period is going to happen every day and never having it actually happen!

Thank You in Advance.

Most of the hpt really are accurate at detecting any pregnancy hormones once you've missed your period, regardless of the type.

It has been 46 days since your last period? I think it is advisable to call your doctor, and speak with a nurse. Some women do have late or even missed periods, but since you are also having symptoms, it is best to check with your doctor.

I am in the same situation as anonymous posted on Sept 20, 09 @ 6:50 p.m. I haven't had a period since June 3rd and before that it was March 13th. I have had 2 negative pregnancy tests. I spotted for a day about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I have had bad headaches, bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea, sore, sensitive, & full/heavy breasts, hungry, sleepy, & nauseous all the time, gassy, moody, crampy, dizzy.. When i was pregnant with my daughter my last period was 09/17 and i didn't find out I was pregnant until nov 19th. with my son i didn't find out until a couple months. If I don't see period by end of the week I'm going to the doctor.

Wow, Anon, that's quite a challenge, isn't it?

I'm glad to hear that you'll go to the doctor by the end of the week if you don't start your period, since you're now 3.5 months past your last period. And your symptoms certainly seem consistent with the possibility of pregnancy. Please write back and let us know what happens!

Hi,

I actually did find out was wrong just recently! I went to the doctor and found out that I had an iron deficiency. Because Iron defiency can weaken your immune system I got the infection of Bacterial Vaginosis. That would explain the abdominal pain. The iron defiency explain my overall general fatigue. Additionaly having an infection (bacterial vaginosis) had created IBS iritable bowel syndrome to come into play which explains the extreme bloating etc. They put me on some iron pills and started me on antibiotics. I am feeling a lot better now. Just be agressive and really take some iniative at the doctor! Otherwise you wont accomplish anything I found out

Thank you for posting back and updating us on what you found out!

Your information is very helpful for many women who have a late or missed period and negative pregnancy tests. It is important to go to your doctor to rule out any medical condition as the cause of late/missed periods, and I am glad that you were able to find the cause and receive treatment. It also helps to be a strong advocate for yourself, and this is difficult when you are the patient sitting there is a paper gown; bring a trusted friend or family member along to help with the questions.

I'm glad you are feeling better!

Thank you SO much for responding. This is so helpful because now I feel that I can go in armed/prepared now to ask them what to start looking for. It really starts to stress you out when you can't figure out whats going on and they keep telling you just to wait.

I am 22 years old and i havent had my period since july 7th.. My period is usually always a little late like a couple days or maybe a week , but never a month or two.. I am writing this on September 20th., I feel bloated my breasts are sore mostly just at night.i went to the doctors for burning in my chest she said it was acid reflux. These seems to me to be pregnancy signs.. but i have taken at least 3 home pregnancy tests and they all keep coming back negative... What should i do???

Hi,
You went to the doctor for your chest pain, but have not called your GYN? Please make an appointment with your gynecologist, and let them know that you are on about Day 77 of your cycle (a normal cycle length is between 21-35 days long), meaning that you have missed two periods.

Many women miss a period "out-of-the-blue", but if you have missed a second period, your doctor will want to know. There are many reasons for a missed period, and the medical term for this is amenorrhea (with three or more missed periods). You can read more about the causes: Amenorrhea. Some of the reasons include weight loss, medications, stress, medical condition, or lifestyle factors (diet, too much exercise, not enough calories).

The pregnancy tests you have taken are most likely the actual results (negative), so you may want to focus your attention now on calling your doctor for an appointment.

Did you ever find out what was wrong? I just read your post this morning and I am experiencing the SAME exact thing. I have never been off schedule and in July my period started a week early (I am on birth control) then in July I missed my period completely and now this month I am missing it again. If you don't mind sharing what you've found out were the possible causes I would really appreciate it!

Bloating, amenorrhea (loss of menstruation), fatigue, weight gain, mood changes and headaches can indicate a number of possible conditions (too many for us to even begin speculating), and it is best to call your doctor to be seen very soon.

Please let us know what the doctor says, and if you have any questions!
