why do I have cramp like symptoms if Im not on my period

So lately I've been having lower pain in my stomach and on my right side of my stomach weird thing is also my periods haven't been regulated since October instead of every 28-31 days it's every 52 days instead. I don't know what's going on .

Menstrual cycles can be very unpredictable.  The only time when irregular periods could be a sign of something serious is if they are more frequent than 28 days apart or you have severe symptoms such as debilitating pain.

 The most common reason for irregular periods are hormonal imbalances for which doctors usually prescribe oral birth control pills.  These pills give you the necessary hormones to keep your cycle regular and reduce and in some cases eliminate negative symptoms such as cramping.
