Last year, I got diverticulitis for the first time, they put me on Cipro and Flagyl . I took it as they said to, I was so sick, I couldn't eat, I couldn't think. I was so sick for days on end taking this stuff. So I called the advise nurse and she said, I have having a reaction, and it was sending me into what they call DKA. Now anyone that knows anything about Diabetes, knows what DKA is and how deadly it can be. Not I am not a diabetic YET. I am like in the pre diabetes category. Anyways, these meds had a huge reaction inside me, I was so sick, but they said to keep taking it. So that is what I did. But it took its toll on me, I had lost a lot of weight, night sweats, heart racing, and my mental ability's went down the tubes. I had to go to a mental hospital twice while taking these meds. They have robbed me of at least four years of my memories. I was into writing poetry, but this has also robbed me of that ability. This stuff is dangerous!! Anyone know of a good lawyer that would take this case. Please respond. Thanks for letting me share. I mean my family sent me to the Mental Hospital because I was not myself at all, it was like I was a totally different person, still am different from what and who I used to be. And I have hardly any memories of the past four years of my life. :( Can anyone please help me to get a lawyer for medical malpractice or something.

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
April 30, 2016 - 10:09amI'm so sorry to hear about your awful experience with the traditional medical system. You have every right to sue for medical malpractice!
The best place to start is with whoever prescribed you the medication. For example, if it was through Kaiser, you could use the Kaiser Malpractice Lawyers. Secondly, your location is important. If you wish for more specific advice, its important to know where you receive medical care and your location, and your budget.
Best of luck to you.

Faith, I thank you for your advice, and I am in Portland, Or. And the hospital that gave me the meds I believe was Providence ER. Any help would be great and I thank you so much for all your time with me. Many Blessings! :)
