Hello Eveyone!
Just wanted to share with you all that yesterday 9/18/12, I finally decided to try HRT. I’m 47 yrs young and had all the symptoms…not sleeping well, anxiety, depression, No Sex drive, hot flashes.
My sister tried HRT in Arizona and swore that her treatment changed her life. I live in the East Coast and found a trained Dr. in Northern VA. I hope that this treatment will help all my symptoms. I will keep you all posted on my outcome.

Regarding hair....take prenatal pills even though not pregnant...and get your iron and ferratin levels checked. My hair was brittle and came back w/ both of these supplements. I actualy don't take the prenatal every day or all of it but do take half a pill or a whole one throughout the week. I process my hair w/ a box from the store and have long hair finally and am 45. Plus, I live in sunny Florida which does damage hair...anyway, try this as my hair used to be broken and brittle. Good luck.

There is a great product on the SottoPelle website called Hair Repair Formula. It has all kinds of vitamins and minerals that can help to prevent hair loss and promote growth. I am also using their pellet therapy and it has changed my life for the better like many other people mention here.

I am 47 years old and peri menopausal. Previously, I have not had any medical issues and still have both ovaries and uterus. About a year ago, I started feeling like a different person. Not sleeping, hot flashes and if my husband just touched me, I would become drenched with sweat and before peri menopause, I never sweated. I was extremely moody and snappy and didn't care if I ever did anything because I was so tired. I started doing lots of research because I had to change this person I had become. I had my first Sottopelle insertion four months ago and it made a big difference in my life. I was only given 100mg of testosterone. My estrogen was just a little low but testosterone was 11. I didn't like the idea of only testosterone because of all the same concerns as everyone else but my voice hasn't changed and my hair hasn't fallen out. In fact, it's growing faster. I did get some pimples on my forehead but nothing some Clearasil won't clear up. I dont't have that foggy feeling, the body aches and swelling in my hands is gone, my libido came back with a vengeance and I lost 11 lbs two months ago because I actually felt like exercising and being able to stay on the elliptical longer than 3 minutes. This past month I lost 4 lbs . I'm 5'6" and was 165 lbs when I started. This past year I couldn't make the weight budge that I put on the past couple of years. I'm not a big eater, I had just lost all of my energy and desire. I guess it was a bit like being depressed, although I have never been clinically depressed. So far, I am very pleased with my results and I am anxious to get my next insertion. It makes me feel sad when my husband says where have you been lately. I am so glad to have my wife back. He never complained with the changes I was going through except the Libido and not allowing him to touch me at night. Maybe my electric bill will go down since I don't have to have the a/c on 67. I hope you have positive results as I did.

Hi, well you sound alot like me. Except I had already not been having a period for over a year once I started my implants. Like you they made a huge difference. That said although I felt alot better in many ways I did have some problems with other things. Joint pain, hip pain, foot pain, and even had a ruptured appendix after a few years on them. Not saying they had anything to do with them. BUt now after 4-5 years on them I'm having bleeding issues. Serious ones and have chosen not to continue. I'm seeing a new doctor next month and will continue something but not the implants. My doctor was very experienced but didn't seem to have the concern I felt with the continued bleeding. You have a great sex drive but very aggrivating bleeding all the time! And feeling weak from blood loss. Now the sleeplessness has started again and some anxiety and just hopeful this next doc can help.
May 27, 2015 - 1:02pmI heard the bleeding is a HUGE issue with those of us that still have our plumbing. The doctors however didn't seem to mention that when I started!

update! Well I have determined I'm going to have to get a hysterectomy the bleeding will not subside my whole abdomen area feels more heavy and pain most days so I'm scheduled for surgery later this month. I would just say if you do take the pellets and you do have all your plumbing uterus and ovaries I would highly be on guard that you are seeing a very qualified HRT specialist as estrogen and testosterone does build up in your body which causes the breakthrough bleeding I had three years of greatness on these pellets and it makes you think they're wonderful but then two years of bleeding daily and my gynecologist said I'm just very fortunate I don't have uterine cancer due to the over use of estrogen in my body. So in closing yes I miss the feelings of what I had when I started the pellets but no I'm not looking forward to this surgery or recovery just be very careful we are all looking for a quick fix and sometimes it's not the way to go. Remember these doctors do it to make money good luck!!

I was suppose to have sottopelle pellets implanted this past Monday but I chickened out after all of the negative things I read on this site. I am concerned. I do not want to lose more hair than I am losing already. I do not want to get breast cancer or sound like a man or get acne all over. I had my hormones tested and the doctor told me that I am 22 for testosterone and that I need to be between 70-150. He wanted to give me 125 of testosterone in the pellet. My estrogen was 73 and he told me that 58-78 was normal so he was going to give me 6 of the estrogen pellet. My progesterone was 7.7 which he said was high. I am not sure what normal is for hormone levels. Does having low testosterone cause hair loss?? I am not sure if I should try the cream for estrogen and testosterone and take a pill for progesterone? I do not want worse symptoms. I have trouble sleeping and my hair I falling out. I am just starting menopause. I still get my periods regularly but I do not get hot flashes or sweat yet. I am usually freezing and I live in Florida. Can anyone give me some feed back on these questions I have. I would really appreciate it. I have only gone to this gyn/ob once and do not trust that he is telling me everything. He wants to sell the pellets to make money I am sure. He said there really is no bad side effects that his patients have encountered.

Hey there. Know it's been several mos. since you posted your concerns/questions. I just received my fourth round of pellets. They HAVE changed EVERYTHING for the better for me. I will be 47 in January. Have a 4 and 7yr old. Used to have a monster sex drive and TONS of energy. (Like more than average person...exercised 5-6 times week/ran/ etc./and do more than probably about 85% of people...not bragging just is what it is) But had gotten to point I had NO energy. Could JUST get kids to school in am and then wanted to go back and lay down! REALLY?! It was depressing and disheartening. My super thick, curly lion mane type hair was seriously thinning. Not sleeping well. Ugh. Really felt like life was just kinda gonna be over! Forgive my slang etc. I am a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) ... do anesthesia for a living :) Am experienced in healthcare. If I were YOU, I would give it a try. Get the pellets! See how you feel. I was really AMAZED. And it is HEAVEN! Energy and sex and feeling like doing things again! LIFE! I feel terrible that so many women are suffering! Hair returning and life is good! Go for it.... No negative side effects for me, except for hip is sore for week or so. And can't exercise for 72 hr. after insertion.

So your hair started GROWING BACK. I have no big patches of hair loss but notice more shedding after first pellet insertion.
Energy is great. Skin is a little oily. More chin hairs. Body aches better.

This is great news you are experiencing so many positive things after your fourth insertion. I, too, felt very energetic, slept like a baby, no hot flashes, etc., however after the third or fourth insertion, I could never reach the "high" feeling from that first insertion. It just was not there, despite the increasing doses given. I kept on inserting for two years (going in every three/four months) until I was told I had fibroids, then a year later, Stage 0 DCIS breast cancer. All doctors on my breast cancer team concluded the pellets gave me these problems so I went for an immediate mastectomy to avoid impending radiation or chemo down the road in 2013. I am to stay far away from the pellets and any types of HRT I was told. In fact, my diet is so anti-estrogenic, my weight is naturally low being plant based now. When I stopped the pellets, my hair came back thicker, however my stamina is not there like it was with the pellets and I do not sleep as well - two things I will trade not to risk cancer. While everyone's machine runs different, I still say "caveat emptor" to anyone taking the pellets long term which, are not FDA regulated, and we really do not know exactly the amounts that are being injected, etc. even though we are told. Perhaps good for short term use to get a pre-menopausal woman balanced out, but not good for long term use. Going on age 62 in 2015, at 5'7", I weigh 123 and am convinced it is from my plant based diet consuming no meats, etc. injected estrogen/antibiotics/steroids and no packaged/processed foods. I am now achieving the same benefits from diet as I was from the pellets.
