Hello Eveyone!
Just wanted to share with you all that yesterday 9/18/12, I finally decided to try HRT. I’m 47 yrs young and had all the symptoms…not sleeping well, anxiety, depression, No Sex drive, hot flashes.
My sister tried HRT in Arizona and swore that her treatment changed her life. I live in the East Coast and found a trained Dr. in Northern VA. I hope that this treatment will help all my symptoms. I will keep you all posted on my outcome.

It took over a year after stopping the Sottopelle pellets for my hair to come back thicker. I am not sure if this is attributed to changing my diet or just stopping the pellets. At the salon where I get my hair trimmed, the stylist told me that hormones we take, in any form, can affect our hair causing thinning, breakage, etc....also general anesthesia can do this to our hair. Many female cancers developed from taking hormones involve surgery. General Anesthesia causes the hair follicles to become dormant after surgery, thus causing thinning, breakage, etc. This is something not explained to us when signing the papers for surgery...or beginning hormone therapy. I recently had a salon treatment called Olaplex that has made my waist length hair feel so strong. This treatment was given preventatively as I just completed breast reconstruction surgery this summer. The breast reconstruction would have not been necessary had I not taken Sottopelle pellets.

I began the Sottopelle pellets summer of 2010 at age 58, postmenopausal for 8 years. Within the week, my hot flashes were gone and sleep quality started to get back to normal. Energy was through the roof. My estrogen prior to insertion was 8 and testosterone was 17. My estrogen was boosted to over 100 and testosterone was 300, sometimes all the way to 600 with further insertions. I could have leaped a building in a single bound with energy. Having a uterus, I took bio-identical progesterone as well. Within 4 months, I began to bleed. Sick of the bleeding I consulted gynecologist who performed a D&C and hysteroscopy. I had suddenly developed fibroids. A hysterectomy was recommended, but I said no way...just let the estrogen wind down. After over a year, the bleeding every day stopped and took two years for the fibroids to shrink to nothing. From that point, I only had testosterone pellets inserted, not estrogen. In January, 2013, I found a breast lump, luckily it was Stage 0 DCIS, had lumpectomy, did not get clear margins, had MRI/MRI biopsy and a re-excision. Still did not get clear margins. The DCIS started to turn to LCIS and spread throughout breast extensively, but not invasively which led me to have a mastectomy so I did not have to take radiation or drugs. I had none of these problems before taking Sottopelle therapy. My waist length hair thinned 50 percent. Doctors often fail to tell you that testosterone morphs into estrogen in the female body and can do further harm. Had I known I would have had all these problems, not to mention the expense and pain, I would have stayed far away from any kind of bio- identical therapy. I am a one year cancer survivor this month and have not taken Sottopelle for 2.5 yrs. now, no other hormones, switched to a plant based diet, hair is back long and thick now. I stay away from anything estrogenic now. Sottopelle may work in the short term for some women/men, but be prepared for consequences and do not miss out on your annual screenings should you go this route. Paying out of pocket for an annual breast MRI should be recommended by the doctors providing this product. Caveat Emptor.

Dear Anonymous,
July 16, 2014 - 9:23pmThank you for sharing. I have been so confused and spending every waking minute consumed with researching answers as to the best possible solution for hormone therapy. I am so sorry to hear about your cancer; but happy to hear that you are a cancer survivor! I only went to this doctor once and the practice made me sign a waiver that if anything happened I would not be able to sue but would instead go to arbitration. That made me uneasy to start with. Then when he told me there were no bad side effects, I really was concerned. I knew after reading all of the comments on this site about the pellets that there are possible side effects. My only symptoms are tired all the time, I don't sleep through the night without taking sleep aids. Also my hair is falling out. That could be due to the low testosterone. Can you tell me how you got your hair healthy and thick. Do you think saw palmetto with pygeum works? The doctor said that the saw palmetto blocks DHT which is the bad testosterone. Do you know of any supplements that will help my hair thicken up and stop falling out?? Do you think that taking a hormone cream with progesterone pill will be less harmful? I am a teacher and I am desperate to get my body in order so I can fall asleep and sleep sound before I go back to the 5:00 am grind. I never sleep sound through the night. Progesterone knocks me out but if the testosterone/estrogen cream will have bad side affects then I do not want to take it and will not be taking the progesterone pills either. I do not want cancer. I really appreciate your response. I am not getting clear answers from the doctors.

My doctor made me sign a waiver as well and I expected that. I was told no side effects as well. Anything that is bio-identical is still a drug and can have side effects. The estradiol pellet is made from soy/the testosterone pellet is made from yams...not solely, but with other unknown ingredients...and that sounds healthy...as a selling point. My oncologist told me that the reason women in the Far East have less incidents of cancer is because they do not have the Westernized diet and consume soy. Their bodies are used to soy...our bodies are not. All the soy products have been so modified like soy milk, soy burgers, tofu, etc. that soy is no longer healthy in that state. The only safe soy is edamame pods eaten in small portions. My hair started growing back because the testosterone made it thin terribly. Testosterone and heredity is what make some men bald. My diet has been clean for almost 20 years, so I cleaned it up more adding biotin vitamins and being properly nourished. What is consumed on the inside, shows on the outside. Ask any hairdresser. I hear you with menopausal symptoms and that is what brought me to taking the Sottopelle pellet: poor sleep, no energy, irritability, zero libido, hot flashes all the time and more. It was not until my diet was cleaned up that I noticed a natural improvement in the hormonal balance of my body. Without taking hormones now for two years, I sleep 8-9 hrs./ night and have maintained my weight at age 61 now at 120-125 and am 5'7" tall. After my experience, to answer your questions about the creams being less harmful, it is a gamble because they are drugs too simply put on the skin, bypassing the liver, but still will get in your system. Prior to starting Sottopelle back in my early 50's and tried the creams prescribed by doctor, went to health foud store, etc...threw enough money away to own a store and it still did not work. Even having my testosterone levels with Sottopelle boosted to 600 (mid-men's range) it did nothing for my libido, but did give me energy and also made me mean and aggressive. No two humans on this planet are wired the same and must work their own machine. If I had it all over to do again, I would have never taken Sottopelle and re-thought my diet and maintaining a regular lifestyle of sleep and eating times. This is the only thing that works for me now. As far as Sottopelle...caveat emptor. The hormone doctors hype it, however every MD I had to see during my cancer surgeries said to stay far away from it. Feel free to keep in touch!

I tried Sottopelle pellets starting June, 2010 as a 57 yr. old postmenopausal woman. After one week, my hot flashes were gone, sleep quality better, energy better and overall quality of life better. It made me look younger and I lose weight. I continued them until the end of 2012. In early 2013, I found a lump and was diagnosed with Stage 0 DCIS breast cancer and had a mastectomy as is was multi-focal and aggressive, but not invasive yet. All doctors involved, even the second opinion pathologist, agreed this pellet caused my breast cancer. Now, I can take no hormones. The pellets are advertised it cannot cause breast cancer. Being bio-identical and "natural", it is still a drug.

Where in Las Vegas did you go for the SottoPelle? I just got off the phone with my sister in law and she could not rave about them enough. She said she has gotten her life back, is sleeping well, has energy, the aches and pains are gone. I want some!! I've been miserable for years and can not find a doctor to help me.
