Well, I was 8,so, I remember being thirsty all the time. I remember getting up four and five times a night. I remember my mom being worried and saying that I was, you know, she would talk about the symptoms. So, mainly though being thirsty all the time and having to get up all the time and being tired.

Shelly is an amazing example of healthy living and managing diabetes. She has been a friend and role model to our great niece whom also has type 1 Diabetes. We need to find a cure for this disease so that young people like Shelly can have the freedom they deserve to enjoy life without being tied to an insulin pump. Please donate to your local chapter of the JDRF.org and help us find a cure!
