my relationship
am just not happy in my 34yrs of relationship with the father of my children anymore
Hello Betang,
when we arrive at that feeling there are a few useful steps to take.
One is a kinda of history - leading to how long have you felt like that?
and also to ask how you feel in general?
how are the other aspects of your life?
I suggest using arts - writing and/or art as a way to explore this.
of course if there is someone you trust who is a good listener , share some of the insights you have with them.
Finally, then address the issue with the other person. when you are clear about your feelings, when you can speak about it without emotionally spinning.
Best of luck to you, and stay in touch as you need.

Hi betang,
I'm sorry you feel that way. Would you like to explain what's going on? Have you discussed your unhappiness with your partner?
Good luck, and thanks for your posting.
Great suggestions, Kate! I agree it's important to figure out the root of the problem, and focus on what's good in life to try to alleviate the disappointment and gain insight. Betang, have tried counseling (either marital or on your own); if you can't figure it out on your own or from talking with a close friend or relative, counseling may assist you that way so you can start to take some positive steps toward finding happiness either with your partner, or apart from them.
February 4, 2011 - 9:53amThere are some great articles on EmpowHER about increasing communication with your partner and others about taking care of yourself to find your own happiness.
We hope to hear from you again soon.
