My name is Nora Saul and I am a registered dietitian and diabetes educator. I have been active in the field of nutrition for greater than 25 years. I currently work at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston helping people with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes learn how to eat better to improve their blood glucose control. I see people individually and teach group classes. Part of my work with patients with gestational diabetes is to help them avoid gaining too much weight during the last trimester of their pregnancy. In addition to my work counseling patients, I write articles on nutrition and diabetes topics and give talks on diabetes care to the public and professional groups. I work for Medhelp at Walgreens.com, the Joslin Diabetes Center communications department and Asante Solutions, Inc.
Previously I wrote a question and answer nutrition column for HealthyWomen.com and was book editor for The Diabetes Educator. Before coming to the Joslin, I managed the clinical nutrition services at New England Baptist Hospital and served as Managing Editor for Nutrition Today, a peer-reviewed nutrition journal.
Join me on Thursday April 3 at 2:30pm ET on HER RADIO with Michelle King Robson and Dr. Pamela Peeke when we talk a bit about pregnancy and weight gain. We will be discussing the proper amount of weight to gain, what can happen if you gain too little or too much weight and how to make healthy choices to help you get the right amount of nutrients you need without gaining too much weight. I look forward to having a chance to talk with you and answering your questions.
