Javier F. Magrina, M.D., is a consultant in gynecologic oncology and surgery at Mayo Clinic, Arizona.

Dr. Magrina’s specialties include: laparoscopic surgery for benign and malignant gynecologic conditions, endometrial, cervical and ovarian cancer, removal of ovarian cysts, excision of endometriosis, hysterectomy, and laparoscopic myomectomy for uterine preservation.

Dr. Magrina earned his M.D. from the University of Barcelona Medical School, Barcelona, Spain. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.

His research projects have included: Incidence and retro evaluation of free floating peritoneal cells during laparoscopy and the effect of Tamoxifen and Raloxifene on endometrial cancer cells in vitro.

Dr. Magrina’s research has been published in a number of publications including the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer and the journal of Gynecological Oncology.
