Daniel Gagnon
I'm the owner of Herbs, Etc. and have been a practicing herbalist since 1976. Born in French Canada, I relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1979. Here I intensified my studies in medical herbalism, pharmacognosy and related subjects at the Santa Fe College of Natural Medicine, the College of Santa Fe and the College of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico, obtaining my bachelor of science in herbal medicine at the North American College of Botanical Medicine.
My passion for helping others through herbal medicine was born out of my own childhood health problems. My experience with conventional medical treatment of eczema, asthma and allergies motivated me to seek gentler, more soothing healing modalities, which ultimately put me on the path to becoming an herbalist. My goal is to educate both the public and the medical profession about the practical, healing applications of herbal medicine.
Health care professionals such as medical doctors, naturopaths, chiropractors and acupuncturists frequently call upon Daniel as an herbal consultant. He is the co-author of Breathe Free, a nutritional and herbal care book for the respiratory system; and the author of Healing Herbs for the Nervous System and Liquid Herbal Drops in Everyday Use.
As a teacher, Daniel shines due to his charisma and ability to relate the information in a "story telling" and engaging manner. He regularly teaches seminars and classes on herbal therapeutics, both nationally and internationally. He was senior professor of Materia Medica at the North American College of Botanical Medicine.
I'm looking for non-pharmaceutical aids in helping me sleep better. What is available? How do I know if products I haven't tried will work for me?
