Jennifer Walker-Journey
Welcome to my world.
I am a professional writer and blogger. I work from my home or the car or where ever I am at the moment. I started my career (more years ago than I’d like to admit) as a newspaper reporter and eventually moved on to nonprofit public relations. In that time I met and married the absolute love of my life and we have a most precious little boy. Besides my wonderful family, I have a passion for great food and fine (as well as not so expensive) wines.
In August 2007, I had a midlife crisis where I realized how much I hated PR and wanted to return to writing things besides press releases and speeches. I now write feature stories for various general interest and business-to-business “ink-on-paper” magazines on topics such as sexual assault awareness, life in a homeless shelter, recent construction projects and, my own personal favorite, concrete!
I quickly launched into blogging when I was hired by Beasley Allen, a “rock star” plaintiffs law firm. I write about everything from pregnancy and anti-depressants, recalled products, dangerous medical devices, severe adverse reactions to medication, and that horrendous coal ash impoundment breach in Tennessee last December.
Most recently, I began blogging about the pleasure and perils of Parenting and Motherhood for b5 media’s BlissTree lifestyles site. (I call my parenting style "trial-and-error parenting.") You can find all my parenting blogs at BlissMom.com.
So, I’m hardly a “sexpert,” but I do know how to research and interview experts and report stories of interest. Please drop me a line if you have a question or a sex-related story idea. I'd love to hear from you!
