I am 60 years old next month. At 59 yrs old, 2014, I had a total hip replacement. Anterior was performed. I'm 4 1/2 months out. I workout hard and have taken yoga for 25 years. I've always been very flexible and until right before the surgery, I could get into a full split. 2 months ago I started weight training and squats and lunges with no problem. I am doing pilates and just tried to go back to yoga weeks ago. I am modifying the poses big time. I cried leaving my last yoga class. I'm probably going to need the other one replaced and hoping I can wait 2 years. It's not bad at all. The doctor doesn't want me stretching too much cause I guess the muscles have to regain strength to keep the hip in the socket. I am still going to a great physical therapist who pushes me to the max and stretches me out himself. I show him poses and he lets me know how far I can go. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
