I was diagnosed with Stage IV Thyroid cancer on June 24th, 2004 - On july 26th, 2004, I had surgery, they removed my thyroid, parathyroid glands and lymph nodes. The cancer had also spread to my muscle on my shoulder. In November 2004 I went through eight weeks of radiation to my neck and shoulder area. I have also had three rounds of Radiactive Iodine therapy. I got really sick that Christmas, my throat was so burned I couldn't eat for about 5 months. I lost 40 lbs and was so weak I could only lay in bed. Somehow I survived and am still surviving. In February 2007, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, the neurosurgeon informed us that it was inoperable. I am still under the care of the Canadian Cancer Board, I go for regular testing and still not cancer free. I am waiting for Thyrogen Injection testing, a major tumor marker test, I have now completely quit working full time because I want to work on my health. I am always looking for reaources which is how I came accross your book, A Survivors's Guide to Kick Cancer's Ass. I am going to try to cure myself. Wish me luck.
