I was born slightly early (3 or 4 weeks) and have had medical issues since I was an infant. Spent my first Christmas in the hospital with pneumonia, diagnosed with asthma and allergies by age 6, and it's been all fun since then.
As a teenager, I had a bout with mono my senior year of high school, and years of chronic pain, mental illness, and trouble finding doctors who would listen. At 24, I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy, and at 26 with EGID - eosinophilic gastro-intestinal disease. It appears I have a problem with autoimmune disorders. Others include: vitiligo, cardiomyopathy and CHF, migraines (argued to sometimes be AI), CFS (probably was Narcolepsy, but it was a fitting diagnosis at the time), potentially AI liver disease, joint problems, and on and on and on.
After spending so much time finding doctors who would listen, help, and work together as my healthcare TEAM and finding it so hard to find accurate, helpful information for myself, I decided I needed to help others like myself.
