Films usually go the opposite way - but Mo Asumang's documentary “The Aryans”, which has already won prizes at festivals between Phoenix and Shanghai, will only be shown on the big screen after its TV broadcast in spring 2014. Asumang, best known as the presenter of the ProSieben erotic show "liebe sünde", received death threats in a song by a neo-Nazi band in 2002 and used this as an opportunity for her directorial debut "Roots Germania", which she completed in 2007. In her current work, she is looking for the roots of others: What exactly are “Aryans”? And what are today's right-wing extremists for and against? Yes, that sounds naive, and this naivety is both strength and weakness of the film.
