42 year old, newly diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma to the left breast. My primary tumor is around 3 cm, and first biopsy was ER+ and PR + , and Her - My Sentinel lymph node biopsy showed positive for the carcinoma in one lymph node. I go back to see my oncologist/hematologist this week to discuss other treatment in addition to starting Tamoxifen. Hopefully to shrink the tumor prior to bilateral mastectomy. I have read a couple of studies that revealed radiation therapy didn't really make a difference in treatment or recurrence for my Grade 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, however I plan to check that information again, since I also had a positive lymph node.
