Sophia describes how her diet is different since her gastric bypass surgery.
Sophia:
Since the procedure, I crave things I never craved before. I hated broccoli. I love broccoli now. I am a cake decorator, and I don’t pick at that anymore. I just don’t care for it, you know. I, when I go to a restaurant, if I feel like having something I do, but I know how to portion myself. I don’t eat the whole thing. I don’t need to have that last piece of cheesecake, and there’s still things, you know, you might take a bite just to have the taste again, you know, but you don’t have to eat the whole thing. You just portion yourself.
I do enjoy going to restaurants and everything, but we have learned to just eat the right food. Instead of a greasy hamburger or something, grilled chicken. I mean, it’s just as good. It’s just as good and vegetables, I enjoy them now. I didn’t before, and my eating habits have really changed. I enjoy, you know, the way I look, and I try to keep eating well. I don’t need all that fatty food and all that other stuff, french fries and all that. You will notice that the things you wanted before you don’t want it now.
