Hello Luna,

You are at risk when you miss an active pill, don't make up for that by taking the missed pill as soon as possible, and having unprotected intercourse. You are at a higher risk when you miss a pill early in the start of a new pack.

Were you taking the placebo pill on Saturday when you had intercourse? If so, were you having vaginal bleeding at the time?

Not taking your pills regularly decreases your protection. Birth control pills prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. If you miss pills, you trigger your body to ovulate and there lies the risk for pregnancy.

Regards,
Maryann
