Changes in a woman's menstrual cycle is a reported side effect of Plan B. The synthetic hormone contained in Plan B is similar to that found in many birth control pills, but at a higher dose. This can throw off the cycle. A period may start earlier or be later than normal. Menstrual flow may be lighter or heavier than normal.
