Plan B contains the same synthetic hormone found in most birth control pills, but at a much higher dose. Since you had unprotected sex on the first day of the inactive pills, you should have already ovulated. Changes in the menstrual cycle is a side effect that some women experience. Reported changes include the next period starting earlier or later than normal. Vaginal blood flow can be lighter or heavier than normal.
If you do not get your period within 3 weeks of taking Plan B, take a home pregnancy test.
