Hello Anonymous,

I can imagine how frightening this must be. Have you ever had this type of pain before? Have you told your mother?

If the pain persists or worsens, please have your parent call the pediatrician's office.

If the pain goes away, you must mention it to your pediatrician during your next visit.

Now, I don't want to scare you but I found information that might relate to your pain.

Endometriosis might be the cause.

Endometriosis frequently begins in adolescence. It can be passed genetically from mothers to their daughters.

It occurs when cells that normally grow in the lining of the uterus start growing in other parts of the body, such as in the abdominal cavity, ovaries, fallopian tubes, bowel, bladder or the area between the vagina and rectum.

The primary symptom of endometriosis is pelvic pain, often associated with the menstrual period.

To diagnose endometriosis and other conditions that can cause pelvic pain, your doctor will ask you to describe your symptoms, including the location of your pain and when it occurs.
