Hi ladyflair88,
Your period may not be the same every month.Periods can be light, moderate, or heavy in terms of how much blood comes out of the vagina. This is called menstrual flow. The length of the period also varies. Most periods last from 3 to 5 days. But, anywhere from 2 to 7 days is normal.
You did not mention how old you are. In teens, hormonal changes can cause long periods along with irregular periods.
Bleeding for more days than normal is one symptom of an abnormal period. I suggest that you make an appointment with your doctor or at a health clinic. By doing a physical examination and obtaining your medical history, a healthcare provider can determine the cause of your changes and answer any questions you have about getting pregnant.
