At 23 years old, you probably have been menstruating for a number of years and you are too young for menopause, which is another time in a woman's life when periods become abnormal. I am not a physician and cannot tell what is causing the lighter but longer periods and the impact on your ability to get pregnant. The best thing you can do for yourself is to be checked by a physician.
