Hi Anon,
I am sorry to hear that your sister has a return experience with this severe pain. In seeking a specialist who treats trigeminal neuralgia, has your sister checked with her insurance company about participating providers or are you looking outside of insurance coverage? You mentioned that you would consider specialists in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. I would suggest beginning with researching the medical associations in each of these states. Once you come across a neurologist with experience in trigeminal neuralgia, you can read up on that physician. Example, most specialists will have a website listing their education, training, publications, areas of expertise. Your sister should ask her GP for the names of other specialists. Call around and see if she can get an earlier appointment with another specialist. Keep us posted.
