Guide

What you describe sounds like a menstrual period. It lasted 6 to 7 days, right? You filled and needed to change a pad or tampon several times throughout a 24 hour period, right? One thing to remember, what you pass during a menstrual period is the lining in your uterus that builds up each month. This build up is what nourishes a fetus if you should conceive. If you do not conceive, the lining is shed and passes as the vaginal flow of a menstrual period.
The difference between spotting and an actual period is -spotting is just small amounts of blood spots on your underpants or a pad while an actual period is a moderate amount of blood that fills most of a sanitary pad or fills a tampon.
