The most frequent definition of virginity is penetration of the penis into the vagina. The Merriam-Webster Medical Dictionary defines a virgin as one who has not had sexual intercourse and sexual intercourse as:
1 : heterosexual intercourse involving penetration of the vagina by the penis or coitus.
2 : intercourse involving genital contact between individuals other than penetration of the vagina by the penis.
