You are not pregnant if you just had a period. Why you missed one month, then had a short period and a period followed by brown discharge 5 days later---I don't know.
The menstrual cycle is regulated by hormone. The lining of the uterus is shed during a period. There may be abnormalities in either your hormone levels or the lining of your uterus. Call your doctor to make an appointment to be evaluated, since you have had 3 abnormal periods.
