Changes in your menstrual cycle, like your period starting earlier, is a side effect of Next Choice. The changes can include your period starting earlier or later than expected. Menstrual flow can be lighter or heavier than what you have experienced before taking Next Choice. These changes can last for a few months.

If you don't want to become pregnant now, consider using a regular form of birth control, such as oral contraceptive, depo-provera shot, condoms or diaphram.
