Fungal skin infections are very common. They include athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm and yeast infections.

Fungus grows best in a warm, moist environment such as shoes, sneakers, sock and the floor of public showers. Athlete's foot is a good example. This type of fungal infection is prevented by wearing shower sandals in public showering areas, wearing shoes that allow the feet to breathe and washing your feet daily with soap and water. Dry your feet thoroughly and use a good quality foot powder to help prevent athlete's food.

Fungus thrives in warm, moist areas of the body. A fungal infection can affect the genitals, inner thighs and buttocks. Jock itch is a good example. This type of fungal infection can be prevented by washing the area with soap and water, drying thoroughly with a clean towel, changing your underwear and clothes daily and applying antifungal cream as directed.

Ringworm is a fungal infection of the skin caused by direct contact with infected people or animals. Heat and humidity helps spread the infection. This type of infection is treated by applying antifungal medication to the affected areas. Avoiding contact with infected individuals or animals is the best prevention.

I hope this answers your question,
