I can only imagine how debilitating it must be. Have you ever to desensitize yourself to these situations?

Using a method called Systematic Desensitisation, you can eradicate your fearful response to situations that cause you to feel claustrophobic.

I am not an expert in this field, but I did come across a website for the Pegasus NLP Philosophy. This website has a page devoted to claustrophobia and tools to overcome it.
