There is no need to take a pregnancy test. It is not unusual to bleed heavily at the start of a period and then for the flow to become less.
How old are you? During the first years of menstruation, it is common for the menstrual period to be shorter by a few days and flow can be heavier or lighter from one month to the next.
I strongly suggest that since you are now sexually active, you must use some form of birth control regulary. Educate yourself about the types and choose the option that works best for you.
